“My father was the inspiration for this. He was heavily involved in RAPT – the Rhodesian Association for the Prevention of Tubercolosis. He declared proudly that he and his fellow Board had closed the charity down because Tubercolosis had been wiped out in Rhodesia. It was eradicated for over 15 years until the local health conditions deteriorated sufficiently under the new government. Making RAPT redundant meant dealing with the problem from a variety of aspects – not just the urgent fixes but long term. Its a bit like fixing a broken company – short term firefighting is ok when it is needed but long term strategies are the way to get things sorted. We split those into Survive, Learn, Earn.”
